Thanksgiving

This year we were so kindly invited to my sister in law's parents home to enjoy the holiday. I was so happy i got to spend it with my closest friends who happen to all be sisters. I am officially an honorary sister. We were suposed to have Thankgiving with Craig's parents but considering all that his mom has been through this year she just wasn't up to having guests. It was a wonderful day. My assignment was rolls (of course) and my grandmas famous fruit cocktail whip cream salad. Ionly made 2 things but it took all day. I made 80 rolls so that's why I was busy in the kitchen. The turkey and ham turned out beautiful courtesy of Holly and it was all really yummy. It was a group effort and It was all great. Thank you to Laura's family for inviting us and accepting us into your family! The tables were decorated so beautifuly

After Dinner my father in law treated us to see New Moon again. The best part was we got to bring our mother in law (who has read all of the books) along with us. We were so lucky to hang out with her since her 4 month illness. She was in the hospital for most of that time. Now she can come out and about a little.

Funny Black Friday story:

After movie we headed up to Park City for midnight madness. It was about 12:30 before we got there. Partly because Diana (who was kind enough to drive us) missed the exit we take to avoid the traffic. It's not her fault. It's actually tradition. So we always end up getting off our normal exit and go the opposite direction to get back on the freeway and back track to our short cut.LOl. It really is funny we end up missing it every year! Then once we got to the parking lot Laura and i were both not able to undo our seatbelts. After a lot of pushing and pulkling mine came free. Then we all 4 had to help Laura. Her's was missing the black casing piece that fell below when Diana and her husband pushed the seat down for bikes. We had no idea it had fallen below or how to fix it. Diana was about ready to cut her out of the seatbelt! So it was suggested we loosen the lap belt and have her slide out from under neath. It worked great and she finally got out.. Too bad it took us 15 min. to discover that. We were so busy looking at deals and trying stuff on...we forgot to get pictures. Except for one of Holly and the red shoes she was thinking of Buying. She stood in the same place for an hour thinking about whether or not to buy the shoes after we obsessed over guess sweaters.LOL
Amazingly when we left the outlets Holly was brave enough to scooch herself under and pull the seatbelt over her for the ride home. I was shocked she was able to get underneath.
We usually stop for breakfast on the way home. We got to the first Mc Donalds drive thru and ordered. We get up to the counter to get our food and the lady tells us the sausage fryer is broken. Laura and I, desperate for our sausage mcmuffin with egg, decided to go to another Mc D's drive thru. This time we thought we would try the dining in area. At 5:30 a.m. We all got out of the car and stood there waiting for Holly like 5 minutes. We all thought "whats the deal?" "why is she not getting out?" Then discovered she was stuck and had a hard time getting out of the seatbelt again! We all forgot about the seatbelt. We all had such a good laugh. Poor Holly. Once she finally was able to get free we went up to the door and it was locked! So back in the car and thru the drive thru we go.
A few hours later after only 3-4 hours of sleep we all got a txt from Diana saying Her husband just went out to the car, found the piece that was missing and popped it back into place and fixed it in 2 sec. Glad Diana did not have scissors to cut the seatbelt! She really would have! LOL. We were gonna shop no matter what!
It was a great night. We all stuck to our budgets. My great buys were a $70 watch from Tommy Hilfiger for $20 and a down filled pink Tommy coat for Cali for $35. She was over the moon about it. It was a lot of fun and I know we were all very delerious by about 2 a.m. Another successful Black Friday:) It was all worth the lack of sleep.

The Fourth

Fourth of July for us is filled with Food, Family, Fun and of course Fire works. This year we had a busy and amazing day. During the day we went to see my sister and her family visiting from California. We had lots of food and the kids got to play with the slip n slide and they got to roast hot dogs and smoores. It was great to get the cousins together again.Cali and Ella eating their popsicles

I Always try to reflect on this holiday and get a new appreciation for my country and my freedom and think about all the brave soldiers who continue to fight to protect our country and have died for it. i am so greatful to live in this country. I feel so blessed to have been born here.I am truly proud to be an American girl. It was a great family day. i really enjoyed all of it until we got home that night and saw that our dog got spooked by the fireworks and chewed up our wood blinds trying to get out. Oh yes the blinds that give us privacy from all the neighbors. Clearly a terrible mistake on our part. Something I wasn't ready for but I guess I will get those white plantation shutters I have been dreaming about. Won't do that again.

Easter

Easter was a busy weekend for us. Saturday we had a neighborhood egg hunt, then a Baptism, then a Birthday party for the kids cousin Jacob. Wow it was a whirlwind but was a lot of fun. We started our Easter morning with visit from the easter bunny. The Bunny left Baskets and tons of eggs for the kids to hunt for. They both made out pretty well on the candy.
Once the baskets were too heavy to carry ....we decided to color eggs. The kids love doing this every year. It was a lot of fun and mom and dad Joined in on the funThey Turned out BeautifulThen Off to Grandma and Grandpas for yes..another egg hunt with cousins. My children have been on a sugar high every day this week. They made out pretty well on the candy there too. I love this picture of cali and her "girls". She is all dressed up and looking beautiful and you can see her elbow has a big rug burn. She loves everything girl but she is no dainty little girl. She is as rough and tough as they come. Cali's Nina bought her this dress when we were in Texas. Thank you Nina...It was beautiful on her. She said she is ready to get married in that dress. Our family in our Sunday bestCraig and His beautiful Mom

It was a great Easter. All throughout the day I kept thinking of the savior and what he means to our family and his wonderful example. I am so greatful that I see and feel him around me all the time. I can't imagine how my life would be different without his influence and sweet spirit. He is very special to me and I am so greatful that he is in my life. Hope you all had a wonderful easter.

Christmas Wrap up

Christmas Is an amazing time of year. It is lots of planning, work and stress but It always seems to make me think about all the things I have to be greatful for. I love the opportunity to see those big smiles from my kids. This is how our Christmas went this year... Christmas Eve Daddy read stories to the kids. Most importantly we reminded the kids what Christmas is truly about and how much the savior means to us. Then Daddy reads the night before ChristmasChristmas morning stair picture. This year Andrew decided to get us up at 5:20 a.m. He was very excited and we were not so happy to see the kids that early in the morning.
This is what Cali saw in her pile
